History of the Mishima Family Conflict in Tekken

Who is not familiar with the Tekken franchise? Fighting game made by Namco for the first time in 1994 when it has become a game that was successfully listed as one of the best-selling games of all time. Based on the name “Tekken”, the term is a translation of “iron fist”, from the name it is certain that this game is a type of fighting game (fighting).

The rise of Tekken itself started from an arcade game series, but as Tekken developed, it finally began to penetrate into the console with the more precisely released for the first PlayStation 1 A.K.A PSX console. More than 5 sequels have been created from the original version. Tekken development itself from the beginning until now is still handled by the Director and Chief Producer, Katsuhiro Harada. Harada has worked on Tekken for more than 22 years and has also successfully spawned several other franchises besides Tekken, the Summer Lesson virtual reality game.

The distance is quite far enough for a new player to be sure to feel confusion, what is Tekken lifting? What is Tekken about? Well, maybe for players who have followed Tekken since PS1 may already be familiar with the storyline that is presented in this game. The storyline wrapped in Tekken is a “sweetener” in addition to presenting an exciting fighting gameplay system with an attractive array of characters.

Now Tekken 7 has been officially released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Of course, with a vulnerable period of time, it requires a refresher in order to attract new players to play Tekken. Some players who were around 20 years old and above certainly knew the conflict story from the Mishima family. But in the Tekken 7 series this time, the storyline is somewhat “slightly” changed from the previous version, and lifts the next story of the conflict that occurred between Jin Kazama, Kazuya Mishima, and Heihachi Mishima.

The conflict that occurred in Tekken began when he was 5 years old, Heihachi who was the father of Kazuya, brought Kazuya to the top of the mountain. However, without warning, Heihachi dropped Kazuya on the edge of a cliff. But Kazuya survived with the help of a mysterious force. At that time, it seemed like someone gave strength so that finally Kazuya wanted to avenge his father for what had been done to him.

Over time, Heihachi has led a company called Zaibatsu, the company that was built by his father, Jinpachi Mishima. His leadership is none other than by overthrowing the leadership of his father, Jinpaichi. Until finally Jinpaichi was captured and imprisoned under the Mishima complex, Hon-maru and left to starve to death.

When he was 52 years old and still led Zaibatsu, Heihachi had announced a tournament called “King of Iron Fist” to test his abilities. But apparently Kazuya followed the tournament and managed to defeat Heihachi, Kazuya, who was still vengeful, finally did the same thing that had happened to Heihachi, namely throwing the edge of a cliff and successfully taking control of Zaibatsu. Kazuya is possessed by an evil spirit and leads the Zaibatsu company by doing destruction.

But Heihachi survived the incident, and went to practice and meditate intensively. After two years later, Heihachi finally returned and entered the tournament held by Kazuya. Finally Heihachi defeated his son and threw Kazuya’s body into a volcano to kill him.

After taking control of Mishima Zaibatsu once again, Heihachi formed the Tekken Force, an elite force assigned to control world peace. 15 years later, during the Tekken Force expedition at an Aztec Temple in Mexico, the entire elite force was obliterated by a mysterious creature called the “Ogre”. Realizing that Ogre has eternal blood, Heihachi is finally interested in the power he has and wants to take the blood of Ogre in order to have eternal life.

However, when he wanted to do an Ogre search, Heihachi met with Jin Kazama who claimed to be his grandson and begged to train him so that he could avenge the Ogre, for having killed his mother, Jun Kazama. Heihachi agreed and managed to educate Jin Kazama for four years, then Heihachi announced the King of Iron Fist 3 tournament to lure the Ogre out. The Ogre was finally defeated by Paul Phoenix, but the Ogre suddenly turned into a True Ogre, but Jin defeated the True Ogre, Heichachi actually betrayed and tried to kill Jin, but suddenly Jin turned into a Devil and defeated Heihachi.

After that incident, Heihachi finally collected the remnants of True Ogre and tried to combine his DNA with DNA True Ogre, but Heihachi realized that he needed Devil Gene owned by his children and grandchildren as a catalyst. Heihachi could not find Jin’s whereabouts, but he knew that Kazuya had been successfully resurrected by G Corporation. To lure them both back, Heihachi held the fourth King of Iron Fist by promising the grand prize of Mishima Zaibatsu’s company ownership. After that, Kazuya successfully hooked and entered into a trap. Heihatchi defeated Kazuya again in the tournament. Elite Tekken Force troops are ordered to bring Kazuya to Hon-Maru. But suddenly Jin appeared again and managed to defeat Heihachi.

After the Jin left the battle, the G Corporation’s Jack-4 forces attacked Hon Maru to break away. Heihachi appeared to have been killed in the attack, but apparently Heihachi was still alive and unconscious during the fifth The King of Iron Fist tournament held by Jinpachi. After recovering, Heihachi learned that Jin had taken control of Mishima Zaibatsu.

Jin’s leadership in Hishima Zaibatsu apparently did not make the world peaceful, instead it made matters worse by spreading wars everywhere. By his behavior, made one of the elite forces he led, Lars Alexandersson, betrayed and wanted to destroy and knock down the throne held by Jin.

Realizing this Heihachi finally entered the tournament held by Jin to regain Zaibatsu. Heihachi made an alliance with Lars who was known to be an illegitimate child of Heihachi. However, the attempt was unsuccessful so Lars finally left and told Heihachi that he would be the “last person” he had ever met.

Lars told Jin that the evil forces that enveloped him were the strengths given by Azazel, so that finally Jin made an expedition to search for Azazel to end the evil forces. After Azazel was defeated by Jin, it turned out that the evil forces in his body did not disappear. Feeling sorry for his strength, finally Jin decided to disappear and finally the story continued in the Tekken 7 series.

Well, that’s a brief story of the conflict that has occurred in the Mishima family. The core story of revenge is still a warm story in the Tekken franchise. The number of unsolved mysteries is the reason why this fighting game is very interesting when compared to other fighting games.
