5 War Histories Worth Making in Assassin’s Creed

Despite some titles that feel “flop”, the Assassin’s Creed franchise still has a massive fan base. There are many attractions that make the Ubisoft concoction franchise so loved and always look forward to the newest series. Starting from the soundtrack that always looks good, unique themes, interesting open world gameplay, to fiction & history-based stories that look unique.

For this last reason, it is always the main topic of conversation and always invites curiosity. After the Greek setting with the story of Leonidas’ descent in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, many fans both speculated and gave Ubisoft advice regarding the next Assassin’s Creed setting. Likewise with us, where we will provide references related to the background of which places and history are most worthy of being the theme of the Next Assassin’s Creed series.

1.World War II (Germany 1939-1945)

So one of the bloody incidents that hit the face of the world, World War II has many dark secrets in it that deserve to be lifted. Even though it might erode the essence of the Assassin’s Creed series due to the rapid advancement of technology, it is undeniable that the theme will still look attractive.

As we know, Germany as the loser is the subject of scorn in the eyes of the world, but of course it will be interesting if the story is taken from the perspective of the German people themselves. Various unforgettable world figures such as Joseph Stalin, Winston Churchill, to Adolf Hitler will certainly make this historical background even more interesting.

2.War of Scottish Independence (United Kingdom 1296-1328)

The Scottish War of Independence was a major conflict that occurred when Scotland was trying to escape the clutches of the British Empire. This war began after the British colonized Scottish lands in 1296, until finally Scotland was able to rise and get its independence in 1328.

Sir William Wallace’s struggle for the Scottish people will be very interesting to be appointed, where he dared to fight until the last drop of blood for the independence of the Scottish people. Of course it would be very interesting if Ubisoft took the War of Scottish Independence as the next theme for Assassin’s Creed, where players can later explore the beauty of Great Britain in the past, from Scotland to England.

3.The Three Kingdoms (China 220-280 BC)

Assassin’s Creed with Chinese background has indeed been appointed in China’s Assassin’s Creed Chronicles with Shao Jun as the main protagonist. But unfortunately the game is only based on 2.5D Platformer, of course it will be interesting if the background is lifted through a more massive version of AAA, especially with the background of the Age of Three Kingdoms in it.

The Three Kingdoms or the Age of the Three Kingdoms will be an interesting setting, where the 3 biggest kingdoms of that era are involved in endless conflicts & wars. Besides being able to enjoy the beauty of China in the past, if this historical background is realized, later players will meet various important historical figures such as Liu Bei, Cao Cao, Lu Bu, and Zhao Yun / Zilong.

4.Viking Age (Europe 793-1066)

Full of brutality, like the rumors that have surfaced for a long time, this historical setting is certainly highly anticipated. Taking the story behind the Viking legend – Ragnar Lodbrok, starting from his first occupation in England, to the end of his life would be very interesting if picked up.

His expedition in Europe was indeed a turning point in the life of the Vikings, where a nation that previously only relied on violence to survive, slowly mingled with other nations. Of course if this history is taken as the setting for the next Assassin’s Creed, there will be many countries that might be explored, starting from Norway, Iceland, England, to France.

  1. Sengoku Period (Japan 1493-1603)

If there are many locations that fans want, then Japan will be the most coveted background option. But unfortunately, Ubisoft openly admits that it will never realize Assassin’s Creed with the background of the cherry country.

Of course this is very unfortunate for the fans, but if you change your mind, of course the setting will look very interesting. Besides the stunning panoramic views of Japan, the brutal Sengoku era setting will make for a very interesting backdrop. The era marked by important figures such as Date Masamune, Tokugawa Leyasu, and Nobunaga Oda will certainly be very interesting if it is truly realized.

Those are the five interesting historical backgrounds that deserve to be the next Assassin’s Creed theme. In our opinion, which historical background do you think is most worthy of being picked up?
